A Short History of The Mighty Mu Xi Nu Chapter

Due largely to the untiring organizational efforts of Brother Lyndon Roane, twenty five Omega Men came together and founded the Mu Xi Nu Chapter. The Chapter was chartered on May 17th 2025. Founding Brothers included: Lyndon Roane,  Jeffrey Jones,  Jerry Beverly, Joseph Byrd, Williard Felton, Perry Hickman, Michael Smith, Oliver Washington, Kelvin Arthur, Harvey Woodson, Byron Bailey, Randy Jones, Kevin Newman, Gerard Reynolds, Raymond Whitaker, Floyd Beverly, Vince Smithers, Cornell Huddleston, Garrick Bayton, Stevenson Bolden, Donal Goff, Marcel Jones, Dante Jones,  John Hamlette and David Hamlette.

The Mu Xi Nu chapter (The Northern Neck Ques) adds to the legacy of the Northern Neck region by implementing programs that will uplift and positively impact the residents of Essex, Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, and Westmoreland counties. MU XI NU is the first chapter of any NHPC fraternity to service the Northern Neck area.
Guided by Omega’s four Cardinal Principles – Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift, MU XI NU’s presence is already being felt by the communities in this region.
Prior to the Chapter’s Chartering, the Omega Men of the Northern Neck have actively participated in community and social events by request and need.  We have  consistently partnered with surrounding county social service agencies to give food baskets to needy families for Thanksgiving and Christmas; provided monthly mentoring sessions to young men at Westmoreland High School and regional churches; actively participated in voter registration drives throughout the region, and collaborated with civic groups such as the NAACP to increase our presence and strategic contributions. Chapter Brothers continue to make significant contributions to just about every conceivable area of public service and community life.  Within fraternal circles, individual brothers have received numerous awards and accolades on both the district and national levels.  We look forward to advancing these contributions and implementing the fraternity’s Mandated Programs as we continue to uplift the youth of this region.
Leaders of the Tau Rho Chapter served as advisors and mentors in establishing MU XI NU, which is currently being led by Brother Lyndon Roane, a past leader of Tau Rho Chapter.  The Northern Neck Ques are brothers thoroughly immersed in the ideals of Omega.  As we look forward to the potential impact this chapter will have on the communities we serve, MU XI NU moves forward with excitement and the singular purpose of advancing the noble causes of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
